Discover the Beauty of Nordic Symbols with this Free Overlay Mosaic Crochet Pattern!
I am thrilled to share with you a delightful free crochet pattern: "Nordic Symbols." This pattern includes five unique motifs that are a part of my larger pattern, “Norse Zen Poncho.”
I’ve decided to offer these specific motifs as a smaller project to introduce you to the captivating Overlay Mosaic Crochet technique.
Why You’ll Love This Pattern
These motifs are incredibly versatile, allowing you to adapt them to various projects.
Whether you want to create table runners, hanging ornaments, scarves, or blankets, these motifs provide endless creative possibilities.
Each motif is identical in size, making it easy to mix and match or repeat as needed.

About the Overlay Mosaic Technique
The pattern is written in US terms and employs the Overlay Mosaic technique, which is worked on the right side (RS) only. Each round uses a single color, alternating between C1 (constant throughout the pattern) and C2 (which varies). The empty blocks on the chart are BLSCS (SC in back loop only), and the "X" blocks are FLDCS (drop down stitches through the front loop).
Project Highlights
Adaptability: Create anything from small ornaments to large blankets.
Easy to Follow: Detailed instructions with a helpful chart to guide you through the motifs.
Creative Freedom: Use any yarn you prefer, though I used merino wool for my project.
